Privacy Policy
Equivo is built to help you manage your horses, their care, health, and breeding records. We collect only the data needed to run the app for you. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your personal data to third parties.
Our Policy
1. Who we are
The App is provided by Equivo Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information. You can reach us at apps@equivo.com.au
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect the information needed to authenticate you. Depending on your sign-in method this may include your email address, name, and a unique account identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple or a similar provider, you may choose to share a private relay email address instead of your real address.
2.2 Content you create
The App stores the records you enter so they are available to you across your devices. This includes information such as:
Horse profiles (names, details, identification, ownership notes)
Care, health, and task records
Breeding records
Photos or files you choose to attach
Notes and settings you configure
This content belongs to you. We process it only to provide the App's features to you and any people you choose to share an account or records with.
2.3 Subscription and purchase information.
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive a purchase receipt and subscription status from the store so we can unlock the features you paid for.
2.4 Technical and diagnostic information
To keep the App working and secure, we process limited technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, and error or crash diagnostics. This data is used to operate and improve reliability — not to build advertising profiles.
2.5 Push notifications
If you enable notifications, we use a device push token to send you reminders and alerts you have requested (for example, upcoming care tasks). You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
Create and secure your account and authenticate you
Store, sync, and display the records you create
Provide subscription features and verify entitlements
Send notifications and reminders you have enabled
Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the App
Comply with legal obligations
4. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers or share your data for cross-app advertising.
We do not use your horse and care records for any purpose other than providing the App to you.
5. How your data is stored and protected
Your data is stored using our cloud infrastructure provider (Supabase, which runs on established cloud platforms) and, on mobile, locally on your device to support offline use. Access to your records is restricted by authentication and row-level security so that only you and people you authorise can access them. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and rely on our infrastructure providers' encryption at rest.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
6. Service providers we rely on
We share data with a small set of providers only to operate the App. These act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes:
Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
Apple & Google — app distribution, in-app purchases, and (for Google/Firebase) push notification delivery
Crash/diagnostic tooling — to detect and fix errors
7. International transfers
Equivo Pty Ltd is based in Australia. Your data may be processed in Australia or in other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a record, it is removed from active storage. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or contact us at privacy@equivo.app and we will respond within a reasonable time.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Account and data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from within the App or by emailing privacy@equivo.app.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
